    As the world's largest global solutions provider in welding, cutting, and joining, LINCOLN ELECTRIC believes in supporting education on many levels, including youth organizations that teach welding and craft. Our mission is to help them improve their work. As a Global Partner of WorldSkills International we want to offer Experts and champions an opportunity to train their qualifying competition directly in the USA, Europe and Africa. Onsite training programmes for Experts and Competitors is scheduled for early 2022.
    In addition to the hands on training we have scheduled 3 online sessions to provide valuable information to Technical Expert related to the standards and requirements of Skill 10.

  2. 16th Youth Monozukuri Skills Competition Japan

    This competition is for youths, 20 years old or younger, who are currently learning skills at vocational abilities development institutions, technical high schools or other such institutes of learning and have not started work. The purpose of this is to provide them with goals and widen the horizons of young skilled people.

  1. WorldSkills Japan - Prototype Modelling Skill Challenge

    Given the postponement of WorldSkills Shanghai 2021 to October 2022, and postponement or cancellation of most national and regional competitions, WorldSkills Japan has decided to offer a series of skill challenges for Prototype Modelling. The Prototype Modelling skill challenges will be a shared, competitive, learning experience meant to keep Member countries and regions, and their teams, prepared for Shanghai in 2022.
    As the first step, we will hold open online joint training from 27th July 2021 to 29th July 2021. Please refer to the website for more information.
    We are also planning to have onsite joint training in Japan for new entry Members after the COVID pandemic has settled down.

  2. SENA Colombia Online Qualifying Competition

    Competitors from all over the country develop small challenges (2-3 hours) from their own training centers and regionals, in an online format. The best competitors in every skill will be selected to participate in the face to face national competition.

  4. WorldSkills Europe Online Skills Challenge in Graphic Design Technology

    In support of the Year of Innovation, WorldSkills Europe has announced a new Online Skills Challenge in Graphic Design Technology. Open exclusively to WorldSkills Europe and WorldSkills Members, the Online Skills Challenge has been created for young people and experts to compete, share, learn, and become prepared for EuroSkills and WorldSkills Competitions.

    The Challenge has been developed in collaboration with WorldSkills Portugal’s Nuno Viana, who is the Graphic Design Technology Chief Expert for EuroSkills Graz 2021, and WorldSkills Russia’s Andrey Ermakov, who is the Graphic Design Technology Deputy Chief Expert for EuroSkills Graz 2021.

    The event takes place on Wednesday 14 July 2021. A pre-event briefing for Experts will take place on
    Monday 5 July 2021.

    To register competitors to participate, WorldSkills/WorldSkills Europe Experts must contact WorldSkills Europe Competition and IT Coordinator, Jordy de Groot, by Friday 25 June 2021.

  5. WorldSkills Japan - Plastic Die Engineering Skill Challenge

  1. Digital Skills Competition – SkillsPortugal, Digital 2021

    Portuguese people are known as explorers and as people that never say no to a challenge. WorldSkills named 2021 as “the year of innovation”. As an opportunity to develop programmes that offer our young people and their trainers capacity building, while keeping them engaged for the forthcoming European and worldwide competitions. And WorldSkills Portugal is here to answer the challenge and give its contribution to this ongoing digital transition.
    The 1st National Digital Skills Competition is going to take place this year. From June 21st to July 9th, around 250 competitors, aged between 16 and 35, will prove their digital competences in 18 skills.
    Supported by national and worldwide reference partners in the digital area, such as Microsoft, Amazon, CISCO, Google, among others, it will be the 1st WorldSkills Portugal competition totally developed in a digital and distance logic.

  3. Skills Canada Virtual National Competition / Compétitions nationales virtuelles de Compétences Canada

    Due to the global pandemic, Skills/Compétences Canada’s (SCC) annual flagship event will be held on a virtual platform, in June 2021. Over 500 students and apprentices from across Canada will be competing virtually in 37 Skill Areas, in six skilled trade and technology sectors. This event will also include fun and interactive challenges for youth across Canada, and an awards ceremony where the winners will be announced. On the 2nd of June, in Lublin, almost 40 young challengers will be competing in Mechatronics, Industry 4.0, Cloud Computing, Mobile Robotics and Cyber Security. The winners will take part in WorldSkills Shanghai 2022.

  6. Taitaja2021, Finnish National Skills Competition

    Taitaja competition is the largest annual vocational education event in Finland. In past years, it has attracted over 40 000 visitors annually to take part in the event. In May 2021, the event will be organised in a new way. Instead of one big public event, the competition will be organised in vocational institutes around northern Finland and streamed online. Taitaja2021 Oulu event is organised by Educational Consortium OSAO, together with Skills Finland and several education providers from Northern Finland. The competition for the Finnish championship includes 46 skills categories and 360 competitors.

  7. 2021 WorldSkills Hong Kong “Rail Vehicle Technology” Competition – Final

    The first time “Rail Vehicle Technology” competition is organized in Hong Kong, and the first time for WorldSkills Hong Kong to cooperate with Mass Transit Railway (MTR) company in organizing and providing profession trainings to winners. 12 out of 40 teams, who were selected at semi-final, will go through a final round of technical examination and compete for the two best teams to receive further trainings and final selection.

    SkillsUSA TECHSPO is always one of the highlights of an in-person NLSC, an opportunity for members to engage directly with partners from industry and education. This virtual trade show will continue throughout the duration of the national conference, ending June 24. It allows every member to interact with partners across dozens of industries.

    SkillsUSA National Signing Day was held on May 4 to celebrate high school seniors and college/postsecondary students who have chosen to pursue a career as a professional in any of the skilled trades. Local SkillsUSA chapters were encouraged to host a signing day event by inviting business partners, school administrators, teachers, elected officials, SkillsUSA alumni, family and friends to honor students signing “letters of intent” for a job offer, apprenticeship or advanced technical training.
    The 2021 National Signing Day is sponsored by The Home Depot, Klein Tools, 84 Lumber and NC3.

    This year National Young Professionals Skills Competition SkillsLatvia 2021 will take place online and at present at vocational education schools in Latvia. Competitors will challenge themselves at 21 different professions to see who’s got the best skills. The competition won’t be accessible to the wider public in schools because of the pandemic caused by virus Covid-19, but anyone can follow the progress and see updates of skills competitions at SkillsLatvia Facebook page and State Education Development Agency’s website and Facebook page.

  2. 2021 WorldSkills Hong Kong “Building Information Modelling” Competition – Final

    Skills competitions will take place in 13 regions in 56 skills throughout France in all types of training centres, vocational schools, partner companies, etc. This is an unprecedented experience and format to maintain the general competition dynamic and support the WorldSkills France ecosystem.
    At the end of competitions in PHASE 1, competitors obtain a score representing 20 to 50% of the final score to be completed during NATIONAL FINALS PHASE 2 due to take place on a single-site in Lyon at Eurexpo in January 2022.

    Festo offers to WorldSkillers from around the globe, active in skills development in the Manufacturing Cluster a session on the latest Digital Collaboration Platform: Festo LX (Festo Learning Experience). There are 400 users accounts(first come, first serve) exclusively allocated and reserved to WorldSkillers enabling them to access more than 200 courses (including 1,500 hours of E-Learning content). The Festo LX provides a social learning environment for sharing documents, media, exercises, solutions, Learning paths, answering questions and online coaching for experts, faculty, learners and students.   2. AustrianSkills 2020 (Postponed)

    AustrianSkills 2020 has now been postponed till November 2021 following the announcement that WorldSkills Shanghai 2021 will be postponed by one year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
    The Austrian State Championships as qualification for the international professional competitions
    The so-called AustrianSkills are the national qualification competitions in which the participants qualify for the international vocational competitions. Based on the level of international competitions, young professionals compete for a ticket to WorldSkills or EuroSkills every two years at the Austrian State Championships.

  3. 58th National Skills Competition

    The Japanese National Skills Competition is a competition in which young skilled workers age 23 or under (except for a few job trades) pit their skills against each other. The purpose of this is to encourage the development of skilled workers of the next generation. It also serves as a qualifying event for the WorldSkills Competition.
