  1. Youth Monozukuri Skills Competition Japan (Cancelled)

    This competition is for youths, 20 years old or younger, who are currently learning skills at vocational abilities development institutions, technical high schools or other such institutes of learning and have not started work. The purpose of this is to provide them with goals and widen the horizons of young skilled people.

    Skills/Compétences Canada will host the 26th Skills Canada National Competition (SCNC) in Vancouver. During the two days of competition, Canada’s best students and apprentices in skilled trades and technologies will compete with the goal of becoming the national champion in their respective discipline. SCNC is the only national, multi-trade and technology competition for students and apprentices in the country. The event welcomes over 550 competitors participating in over 40 skilled trade and technology Skill Areas. SCNC brings together industry, government and education representatives and up to 7,500 student visitors who will participate in over 50 Try-a-Trade® and Technology activities and interactive demonstrations on our Essential Skills Stage. Through SCNC, Skills/Compétences Canada seeks to raise awareness about the skilled trade and technology sectors to Canadian youth and their influencers. SCNC Vancouver 2020 is a Selection year for WorldSkills Team Canada 2021 to compete at the WorldSkills Competition being held in Shanghai, China.

  3. WorldSkills Hong Kong Competition and Carnival 2020 (Cancelled)

    WorldSkills Hong Kong Competition and Carnival 2020, Vocational and Professional Education Training (VPET) International Conference 2020, and VTC International STEM Student’s Forum and Exchange Progamme 2020. As in 2017, it is expected that this mega event will attract more than 20,000 visitors. The theme will be ‘Skilling for the Future’. The VPET International Conference 2020 aims at raising the profile of VPET in the region and connect international and local delegates from the government, enterprises, and education institutions. Renowned speakers from different countries will be invited to shed light on future skills and workforce and share their insights on future talent strategies with participants in several plenary and break-out thematic sessions. The WorldSkills Hong Kong Competition 2020 will be inviting participation from overseas teams and it will be a platform for young competitors to showcase their talents, gain exposure and network.

  6. Finnish National Skills Competition, Taitaja2020 Jyväskylä (Cancelled)

    Over 40 skills, hundreds of competitors and tens of thousands of visitors together create Taitaja, the biggest educational event in Finland. The event aims to promote vocational education, improve connections between vocational schools and companies, and increase the awareness of vocational education and professional skills. The host city of the event changes every year and in 2020 Taitaja will be held in the Finnish city of Jyväskylä.

    The 4th National Skills Competition of Young Professionals SkillsLatvia 2020 will take place from 28th – 29th of April 2020, representing 22 skills categories. For two days 150 competitors from 35 Vocational education institutions will take part in an intense competition for medals and the title of the best master. Competition with motto “The doer wins!” praises the skills of young professionals and demonstrates cooperation between vocational education institutions and the labour market. It is the only event open to a wide range of visitors, exhibiting the excellence of VET students' skills and demonstrating VET in a wide range of practical activities as an opportunity for future career choices.

    WorldSkills Ghana presents zonal skills competition as a pre-event selection to National Skills competition. The venue for the former is at Kumasi Technical University (KsTU), Kumasi and the latter is Accra Technical University (ATU), Accra.
