    AustrianSkills 2018 – The Austrian State Championships as qualification for the international professional competitions
    The so-called AustrianSkills are the national qualification competitions in which the participants qualify for the international vocational competitions. Based on the level of international competitions, young professionals compete for a ticket to WorldSkills or EuroSkills every two years at the Austrian State Championships.
    This year the qualification for WorldSkills 2019 in Kazan (Russia) and EuroSkills 2020 in Graz (for the first time in the history of EuroSkills in Austria) will take place from November, 22nd to 25th at the Messe Congress Salzburg.
    In its own competition halls with approx. 18,000 sqm of competition area, the crème de la crème of the local skilled workers - from the cutting technicians, mechatronic specialists, masons, bakers and carpenters to painters - can be found at the strenuous competition work can be observed. The 350 participants prove their willingness to work, psychological and physical resilience as well as above-average craftsmanship and technical skills in about 40 different professions. More than 30,000 visitors are expected.

More than 50,000 competitors across 24 states competed at these competitions. As a next step, the winners from all the state and regional level competitions will compete at the IndiaSkills National Competition 2018. More than 400 competitors from across the country will compete in 40+ skills at this event. The event will also saw a participation of 50+ corporates through panel discussions and conferences.     Establishment of a National Skills Competition system" affiliated to WorldSkills International, is one of the strategies and deliverables under Zambia's Seventh National Development Plan which will run from 2017 to 2020. The training will introduce and orient participants to WSC Standards and procedures that will also guide the operations of the proposed national system, with some adaptations where necessary. Introduction of a Skills Competition system is designed to among other things, enhance Labour force Employability, Enterprise Productivity and Resilient provincial level Regional Development.
