WorldSkills Sweden research partner encourages “Skills for Growth”
WorldSkills Sweden is currently building a new research network across some of its leading universities and institutions. One of these private centres – the Ratio Institute – will host an international seminar in Stockholm 20-22 August 2015, on the topic “Skills for Growth”.

Competition Preparation Week was a huge success!
After five days, the Competition Preparation Week has come to the end. During the last week, over 400 participants have been in São Paulo, Brazil to discuss the main skill preparation details for WorldSkills São Paulo 2015.

Competition Preparation Week about to start in Brazil
From 1 to 5 February 2015, all WorldSkills’ eyes will be on the Competition Preparation Week (CPW) in São Paulo, Brazil. The Chief and Deputy Chief Experts and the Workshop Managers, Sector Managers and Jury Presidents will be present to plan and prepare the last details for their competitions.

International Competitors invited to take part in the Finnish National Skills Competition
Taitaja, the largest annual vocational education event is organized in Turku, Finland on 5–7 May 2015. The event will comprise of the National Skills Competition for VET students, as well as skills competition for students with special needs and other events. Admission to this three day event will be free of charge, and approximately 50,000 visitors are expected at the event.

Community Plumbing Challenge in India
WorldSkills Foundation (WSF) exists to share the experience and skills of our international Champions and Experts beyond the WorldSkills Competition. Last week, two WorldSkills Champions – Grant Stewart (WorldSkills Australia, now representing IAPMO) and Seán Kearney (representing WSF) – travelled to India to connect with new partners with a view to expanding the Water Innovation Challenge event that WSF presented in Singapore last June. This new project – entitled ‘Community Plumbing Challenge’ – is being planned for late 2015.

WorldSkills Champions Workshop
Six Champions put their heads together to turn an idea into a reality! WorldSkills Champions - Sufyan Zainalabidin (SG), Abdulla Shehhi (UAE), Ricardo Vivian (BR), Katie Wright (UK), Lucq Post (NL), and Victor Simon (FR) joined a Foundation sponsored workshop in Birmingham from 16-18 November.
