Albert-Vidal has been named Honorary Citizen of the village of Pinoso
Francisco Albert-Vidal was born in Pinoso in 1917 and worked in the city hall of the village of Petrer. Later, he was the Vocational Training General Secretary until 1977 as well as the founder of the International VET Competitions, now WorldSkills.

Technical talents from the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Singapore, Morocco, Ireland, Canada, Hungary, Norway, Finland, Switzerland, Germany, Sweden, Belarus, Latvia, and Macao, China will battle each other in the Netherlands (7-9 April) to find out which team masters their skills to the max! Members from our WorldSkills team are also participating. You can follow our Competitors ‘live’ during this WorldSkills exhibition game in Gorinchem.

National Finals: A huge success for WorldSkills France!
The National Finals of WorldSkills France, held in Strasbourg from 29-31 January 2015, were a great success. There were 823 Competitors in this competition for young professionals. Beyond the personal adventure of the competition, their motivation and skills are the best proof that vocational education is the path to success for young people.

There's so much more beyond the Competition
It has been almost two years since I was a Competitor. I am now a WorldSkills Champion and I have realized that as much as I enjoyed competing, there is even more ways for me to be involved with WorldSkills beyond the Competition. I highly recommend that everyone find a way to be involved in this movement. Regionally, nationally or internationally every experience will be rewarding.

Competition Preparation Workshop – Côte d'Ivoire
After witnessing the tremendous impact from the first ever National Skills Competition hosted last year in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, the Ministry of Employment, Social Affairs and Vocational Training in Côte d'Ivoire is gearing up for the second National Skills Competition which will take place during the last two weeks of May 2015 in Bouake, Côte d'Ivoire.

SkillsBelgium is awarded the European Citizen’s prize
The European Parliament awarded the 2014 European Citizen’s prize to skillsbelgium. The medal was awarded this Monday January 26th in Gosselies by the European Deputy Marc Tarabella himself. The ceremony took place in the freshly new infrastructure of Technocampus, one of the most ancient partners of skillsbelgium, in the presence of Paul Magnette, Minister-President of Wallonia, Eliane Tillieux, Minister of Employment and Training of Wallonia as well as those of one hundred guests.

WorldSkills Sweden research partner encourages “Skills for Growth”
WorldSkills Sweden is currently building a new research network across some of its leading universities and institutions. One of these private centres – the Ratio Institute – will host an international seminar in Stockholm 20-22 August 2015, on the topic “Skills for Growth”.
