WorldSkills Lyon 2024

What’s ON #5: Inspiring pride

14 September 2024

It has arrived! The final day of WorldSkills Competition 2024 is here and we are celebrating the culmination of years of dedication and hard work by our Competitors.

As 1,400 WorldSkills Champions complete their Test Projects and supporters gather to cheer the final moments of competition, we highlight the profound impact of skills on personal growth and community-building.

WorldSkills Competition 2024 countdown

Today marks a pivotal moment for the young Champions, who inspire pride as they make the finishing touches to their Test Projects. Working to exacting standards, they demonstrate not only technical expertise but crucial life skills such as resilience, adaptability, and innovative thinking.

As the countdown clock ticks towards zero, make sure you are on the Competition floor to experience the incredible atmosphere. Experts, friends, and family will be there to cheer on the Competitors’ tremendous efforts too. Catch all the emotions on our social channels.

Family Day champions support and inspiration

Young people’s pride in their achievements is surpassed only by the pride of our skills community in their achievements. The final day of the Competition is Family Day where we recognize the crucial role of support networks in each Champion’s success. Join us in celebrating people from around the world who have travelled to Lyon to cheer on their loved ones, all while deepening their understanding on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

Last day of Broadcasting

In an effort to capture all the emotions at Eurexpo, we have been broadcasting every day of the Competition from 11 to 14 September. Tune in to catch highlights from this last exciting day.

Skills in the heart of Lyon

City-wide activations reach their peak today. The Village des Métiers, or Skills Village, at Place Bellecour enters its final day, while the Sports & Skills exhibition at the Rhône Prefecture continues to draw crowds. The Journées Portes Ouvertes, Company Open Days, offer a second day of behind-the-scenes industry tours, making this a full city-wide celebration of skills and talent.
