WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 unveils official merchandise
A new collection of products, blending Chinese tradition and Shanghai culture, has been launched to mark WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 — the celebration of skills excellence taking place in September.
The global stage for skills is getting ready for the 48th WorldSkills Competition. To mark this special event, the Competition Organizer for WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 has released a range of over 120 souvenirs. The official merchandise will allow visitors to show their support for the event, as well as take home memories from the “Magic City”.
At the heart of the range are Neng Neng and Qiao Qiao, the event’s mascots. The names of these colourful characters, when combined, translate as “capable and skilful”. They were designed to capture the youthful spirit of the skilled professionals who will be competing at the 48th WorldSkills Competition and helping shape the future of skills at WorldSkills Conference 2026.
The merchandise takes inspiration from some of Shanghai’s most recognizable landmarks, such as The Bund skyline and the distinctive “four-leaf clover” shape of the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC), where the Competition and Conference will take place. The collection also weaves in the official event logo, which draws on the traditional mortise-and-tenon pattern that appears in joints in woodwork, stonework and metalwork.
The range includes badges, toys, gadgets, bags, stationery, beauty products, and food and drink, as well as decorative items, such as porcelain ornaments and silk scarves.
WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 has secured prime locations and platforms to sell the product range. As well as being featured in gift boutiques across Shanghai, the range will be on sale at Pudong International Airport, at 10 local universities, and via online platforms WeChat, Douyin, and Taobao. More than 300 ICBC and ABC branches in Shanghai will also feature dedicated displays.
The Competition Organizer expects the network of outlets to grow to cities across China and even to Paris, New York, and London, extending the reach of WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 far beyond the host city.
