WorldSkills is hiring: join the global movement driving skills excellence

WorldSkills International is seeking an exceptional individual to fill the role of WorldSkills Occupational Standards (WSOS) Specialist, a unique opportunity to contribute to shaping the global future of technical and vocational education and training (TVET).

At the heart of WorldSkills lies a bold mission: to raise the profile and recognition of skilled professionals worldwide. Through competitions, collaborative projects, and strategic advocacy, WorldSkills reaches two-thirds of the global population via its 89 Member countries and regions. At the centre of this work are the WorldSkills Occupational Standards, the benchmarks that define excellence in over 60 skills and serve as the foundation for international competitions and vocational best practices.

As a WSOS Specialist, you’ll join a dynamic virtual team and report directly to the CEO while working closely with the WSOS development team. Your work will focus on strategic foresight, international engagement, and content development, while contributing to the evolution of global standards that reflect the changing demands of industries and labor markets.

This role is perfect for you if you have a rich background in TVET systems, industry practices, and global labor trends. The ideal candidate will bring at least 15 years of experience in education, training, or business and preferably across both sectors.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting global research and scanning trends affecting TVET and skills development
  • Supporting the biennial review and development of WSOS as reference points for skills competitions and workforce training.
  • Aligning WSOS with regional and national standards, ensuring they remain relevant and globally applicable.
  • Consulting with stakeholders across industry, education, and international bodies to ensure the integrity and impact of the WSOS.
