WorldSkills Digital Badges now available from WorldSkills Lyon 2024

The hard work and dedication shown by the WorldSkills community during WorldSkills Lyon 2024 has earned them an exclusive WorldSkills Digital Badge. Claim it now and use it for professional growth.

The spectacular Closing Ceremony may still be fresh in the memories of those who took part in WorldSkills Lyon 2024, but many will also be thinking about the next step of their skills journey.

To help with their professional development, key participants including Competitors, Experts, Skill Competition Managers, Interpreters, Team Leaders, Workshop Managers, and Delegates from the 47th WorldSkills Competition can claim a WorldSkills Digital Badge as evidence of their success at the world’s largest skills competition.

WorldSkills Digital Badges are a symbol of skills excellence given to key roles in the WorldSkills Competition. These exceptional people can use their Digital Badge to share information about their skills credentials with educators, future employers, or friends and family.

The badge is a digital image containing WorldSkills-verified metadata that describes a person’s WorldSkills achievements and the steps they took to get there. It can be used in an email signature or digital resumes and added to social media profiles including LinkedIn, Facebook, and X.

WorldSkills Digital Badges are powered by Credly and are easy to claim.

Follow these simple steps:

  1. Look for an email notification from Credly (admin@credly.com)
  2. If this is your first Digital Badge, follow the instructions in the email to set up your Credly account. If you already have a Credly account, then you just need to sign in.
  3. Once you have signed in, you can easily configure your privacy settings in Credly. You are in complete control of the information about yourself that is made public.
  4. You are now ready to share your badge directly from Credly to LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook; over email, embedded in a website, or in your email signature.

WorldSkills Champions who have already claimed a Digital Badge say it has improved the visibility of their WorldSkills training and accomplishments during job interviews or when applying for further study. Experts too have been using their Digital Badges to validate their expertise in their skill area.

Dan McCabe, WorldSkills Champions Trust Representative for Europe has claimed his Digital Badge and says, “At the rate technology is developing and with the depth of information available on the internet, it’s becoming more and more important to have a strong digital presence on platforms such as LinkedIn to help connect with employers. Digital Badges are a fantastic addition to our profile and help make sure we keep our latest achievements up to date online.”
