Women's work gets redefined
Story from Calgary Herald
CALGARY- Camille Cederlund steps out of her car-painting booth and sheds her overalls, hood, face mask and respirator.
Without her work gear she is a blond, finely boned Swedish woman, daubed here and there with paint, who draws stares from passersby.
She and a handful of other women compete in traditionally male-dominated trades at WorldSkills Calgary 2009.
They have become media darlings. Reporters line up to interview them during breaks in the competition.
That’s because there’s not that many of them, although that is slowly changing, say experts.
