Stanley Black & Decker and WorldSkills partnership lights up New York Stock Exchange Christmas tree

A custom ornament highlighting WorldSkills and Global Partner Stanley Black & Decker’s joint efforts for skills development will hang from the New York Exchange Stock (NYSE) Christmas tree.

Every year for a century, New Yorkers have gathered at the corner of Wall Street and Broad Street for the lighting of the New York Exchange Stock (NYSE) Christmas tree. If you happen to be in the Big Apple, take a close look at the tree’s ornaments: one of them is dedicated to WorldSkills!

As part of the Global Giving Campaign, the NYSE asked listed companies to share their efforts supporting non-for-profit organizations, and to give visibility to these important missions. Each company and non-for-profit was honoured with commemorative custom ornaments decorating the holiday trees in front of the NYSE.

WorldSkills had the privilege to be nominated by our Global Partner, Stanley Black & Decker, for the NYSE-Listed Company Charitable Highlights.

Since 2013, Stanley Black & Decker and WorldSkills have engaged over 1.2 million students and empowered 5,500 young professionals to strive for skills excellence. Over 25,000 tools and almost $5 million worth of contributions have been made available to change lives via WorldSkills Competitions and re-skilling trainers in Africa.

The 100th Annual Tree Lighting took place on 30 November 2023 and the ornaments will be displayed until the end of the year.
