Sponsorship and Partnership Manager

We are looking for a Sponsorship and Partnership Manager to join our global, multi-cultural, and virtual Secretariat team at WorldSkills International.

The role

We are looking for a Sponsorship and Partnership Manager to join our global, multi-cultural, and virtual Secretariat team at WorldSkills International. As Sponsorship and Partnership Manager you will be part of the Sponsorship and Partnership department, working closely with the Director of Sponsorship and Partnership on all related activities.

Areas of responsibility and tasks

  • Research on potential new sponsors with minimal supervision
  • Proactive sponsorship acquisition, including initial contact, presentations, and negotiations with potential sponsors
  • Key account management of existing Global Partners of WorldSkills International
  • Proactive support for sponsors in activating sponsorship rights and benefits
  • Create, initiate and support new concepts and projects with sponsors
  • Collaborate with the Skill Competitions department and Competition Organizers on all matters linking skills competitions with sponsorship
  • Collaborate with Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), international agencies, other stakeholders and Competition Organizers on all partnerships related matters
  • Support WorldSkills sponsors and partners in the lead up to and during events
  • Support the Director of Sponsorship and Partnership on all relevant matters

Profile, qualifications, experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (or diploma) or equivalent education
  • At least two years of experience in a similar role or position
  •  A sound knowledge of marketing, branding, licensing, and merchandising
  • Experience in multicultural work environments
  • Fluency in business English is a must (additional languages are an advantage)
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • High intercultural and diplomatic competencies 
  • Ability to maintain complete professionalism under high pressure
  • Ability to meet deadlines while addressing multiple requests
  • Ability to work unsupervised and in a virtual environment
  • A high attention to detail
  • A high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information
  • Extremely competent with IT skills and ability to learn things quickly (experience in Salesforce is an advantage)
  • Willingness to travel frequently internationally and work evenings and weekends when required
  • Be a team player
