Sponsors' Forum - A first during CPW
By WorldSkills International
Committed sponsors and those considering supporting WorldSkills Leipzig 2013 were updated on plans for the event and had the chance to meet each other when they attended a Sponsors' Forum in Leipzig held to coincide with Competition Preparation Week.
Participants at the event which included representatives from WorldSkills International’s Global Industry Partners and event sponsors received an update on the floor plan, learned about developments in marketing, branding and signage and also had the opportunity to visit the Leipziger Messe, where the Competition will take place in less than five months.
WorldSkills International’s President, Simon Bartley, and CEO, David Hoey were both on hand to provide a wider context to the Leipzig event. David described the significance of being a part of the Sponsors' Forum:
“The opportunity for WorldSkills International to be involved in the Sponsors' Forum gives us a chance to help the sponsors get a better understanding of what WorldSkills is about and to stimulate ideas for further engagement. WorldSkills Competitions are a great place for companies to showcase new technologies and career options to the visitors.”
Bob Schoenherr, Global Competition Lead for the Cisco Networking Academies was at the Sponsors' Forum. He said:
“I am really pleased to have been able to come to the Forum. This setting provides a unique opportunity for Global Industry Partners to meet other companies we wouldn’t usually have the chance to get in front of – it’s a great chance to network. It’s also good to be able to get an up to date picture of developments for the Competition which helps us with our plans to make sure we get the most out of being at the event.”
WorldSkills Leipzig 2013 has been working hard to build the relationships with the hundreds of sponsors that it takes to put on a Competition of this magnitude. With many of the sponsors present at the Sponsors' Forum, it was a great opportunity for them to see first hand what they are supporting. Many German and international companies have stepped up to the challenge of sponsoring various aspects of this event and we would like to thank them all for their vision and commitment as we all race towards the start of WorldSkills Leipzig 2013.
