Singapore’s International Technical & Professional Education & Training Conference

The conference — on the theme of “Pivoting TPET for a Sustainable Future: Potential, Possibilities and Partnerships” — will take place in Singapore and online from 28 to 29 June.

Leading names in vocational education and training will gather in Singapore and online this June for a major conference on the future of the sector.

The sixth International Technical & Professional Education & Training (TPET) Conference, organized by the Institute of Technical Education, Singapore, will take place from 28 to 29 June, with support from the Singapore Ministry of Education.

The theme of this year’s conference is “Pivoting TPET for a Sustainable Future: Potential, Possibilities and Partnerships”, highlighting how different countries and regions are responding to vital issues like digitalisation, lifelong learning, skills displacement, and renewal.

Based on three plenary sessions, speakers, and panel facilitators will include:

  • Theresa Schopper, Germany’s Baden-Württemberg Minister for Education, Youth and Sports;
  • Andreas Schleicher, Director of Directorate for Education and Skills & Special Advisor on Education Policy to the Secretary-General, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD);
  • Rémy Hūbschi, the deputy director of Switzerland’s State Secretariate for Education, Research and Innovation;
  • Anthony Mackay, CEO of the National Centre on Education and Economy in the USA and Andrew Chong, Chairman of Singapore’s Institute of Technical Education.
