Get ready for tonight’s magic!

The Closing Ceremony of the 48th WorldSkills Competition takes place tonight at the Shanghai World Expo Cultural Center. After four intense days, 1,400 Competitors from 68 countries and regions will be celebrated for their achievements and their passion for skills.

This evening gold, silver, and bronze medals will be awarded to the highest-scoring Competitors across all 64 skill competitions. In addition, Medals for Excellence will be awarded to those who have shown they can achieve world-class standards.

Best of Nation medals will be awarded to the Competitor from each participating country or region whose performance best reflects excellence. The Albert Vidal Award, named after the founder of WorldSkills International, will be given to the person who achieves the highest number of points overall.

Francis Hourant, President of WorldSkills, will address the Champions, along with representatives from the WorldSkills Champions Trust. The host, China, will pass the WorldSkills flag to WorldSkills Japan, symbolizing the start of preparations for WorldSkills Aichi 2028.

Tonight is about more than medals. It is an opportunity to honour the Champions, to recognize how much they have achieved by making it onto the global stage for skills, and to look towards successful futures as skilled professionals.

Nurit Davidowicz, WorldSkills Champions Trust representative for Europe, reflects, “They are about to experience a night that will stay with them for the rest of their lives. I’d like them to know that, whether or not they stand on a podium, they are WorldSkills Champions. The grit and passion that took them through this Competition has changed who they are forever. And they will go on to make the world a better place.”
