Global standards: bridging the skills gap
Every vocational education and training (VET) system faces the challenge to keep up to date with accelerating changes in their markets and economies. One of the ”Legacy” projects from WorldSkills London 2011 actively supported the roll out of WorldSkills Standards Specification so that the resulting standards could be used to help governments, employers, colleges, private trainers, agencies and awarding bodies to introduce the higher level skills that are increasingly valued by industry and business.
Through 17 case studies, the booklet Global standards: bridging the skills gap tells the story of that activity: the processes, developments, successes and challenges. If you would like to follow up all or any of its contents you will find ways of doing this on page 72.
