WorldSkills Champions Forum 2014
WorldSkills 51: Engaging Champions Beyond the Competition
14–19 September, 2014
Lucerne, Switzerland
The WSCF 2014 programme took Champions through a series of facilitated sessions and group work activities to discuss ways in which they can stay involved with WorldSkills throughout the year, especially the 51 weeks outside of the Competition or Champions Forum. With this programme, we accomplished four main goals:
- Establish what is the best way to keep Champions engaged at all levels of WorldSkills to the mutual Benefit of the Champions, Members and WorldSkills.
- Help develop skills Champions can use to further their careers.
- Provide Champions with skills and knowledge to become an active ambassador for WorldSkills and their Member country/region.
- Ensure Champions are versed in and ready to spread WorldSkills key messages.

Alex Musial
Hi everyone! I'm Alex Musial, an event manager from the East Coast of Canada (Halifax to be specific!). My passion for event management started at a young age coordinating backyard talent shows for family and friends. Pursuing my passion, I have completed a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Business in Event Management. I currently work as an independent event manager in Halifax helping clients execute effective, creative and exciting events. As the Conference Coordinator for WorldSkills International, I was introduced to the skills movement at the WorldSkills Competition in Leipzig in 2013. I am thrilled to be back with WorldSkills International for the WorldSkills Champions Forum 2014!
Isabelle Collin
Hi everybody , my name is Isabelle Collin, I am from Canada .I am a beauty therapist at In Our Hands salon in Dieppe, NB. I always loved to play with makeup and do makeover since my young age . My mom wanted a girly girl so she let me play with makeup , hair products and nail polish. In high school, I decided to pursue my career in esthetic after being in a course where, for 6 months, I was working in a pharmacy . That opportunity was an eye opener and i knew that I wanted to become an esthetician .I love socializing , taking care of people and make people feel good about them self. Since 2008, I'm still doing makeover but as my everyday job and i love it! In college, I had 2 goals: to perform in class and find a way to stand out from the other 30 estheticians . After the provincial and national competition , I was outstanding of all my classmate with my 2 gold medals .Next step was Worldskills Calgary . After giving my best on site I brought silver medal and the best of nation medal . Since WSC I went to Jamaica to the Youth forum ,in London as coach and in Leipzig as translator for the Canadian beauty therapist candidate . So to be invited to the champion forum this year is like the cherry on top of the sunday . An other wonderful experience to add at my WSC journey. Im looking forward to meet everybody
Fabian Vogler
My name is Fabian Vogler and I live in Baden, Switzerland. I was a Competitor in Web Design at the WorldSkills Competition in Calgary 2009 and participated in the past two Youth Forums in Kingston and Jeju. Technology has always interested me and developing websites lets me combine my fascination for programming and design. Currently I’m working for the WorldSkills International Secretariat as Digital Media Developer and I’m studying part-time for my Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. I’m looking forward to an exciting and innovative Champions Forum!
Natã Barbosa
Hi everyone! My name is Natã Barbosa, I am a software engineer from Joinville, south of Brazil. I was a competitor in Web Design at WorldSkills London 2011, and since then, my life is full of adventure. I am currently pursuing my B.S. in Information Systems, and at the same time being part of several projects around the world. To say few, I was part of the 1st WorldSkills Foundation Innovation Lab in Singapore, 2013. I was also part of the WorldSkills Leipzig 2013 social media team. My last big adventure was 1 year abroad in the U.S. as an exchange student at Syracuse University, Central New York, from which I am just returning. I am thrilled to be part of the WorldSkills movement once again for the WorldSkills Champions Forum 2014! I look forward to having a great time with the brilliant minds at this event!
Grace Lung
Hello Champions! I am Grace Lung, the Project Developer from WorldSkills Foundation who is based in Leipzig, Germany. The fact that I love meeting different people and exploring places has led me to study and work abroad since a young age. I completed my Bachelor degree in Business Administration in Australia and have been able to pursue my passion in international event management, marketing and communication in various international sports events and retail industry. In 2011, I started my WorldSkills journey as Customer and Delegate Services Manager at WorldSkills Leipzig 2013. After wrapping up this great event, it was clear to me that it would be a pity not to stay involved and go beyond the Competition! I look forward to seeing you all soon!
Sean Kearney
Hi everyone, my name is Seán Kearney and I am a Project Developer with WorldSkills Foundation. I represented my country, Ireland, in Graphic Design Technology at WorldSkills Helsinki 2005 and have stayed involved with this brilliant organization in various roles ever since. Today, I am working with WSF where I help co-ordinate a range of different projects that give Champions new and exciting opportunities to continue their WorldSkills journeys after the Competition: we hope many of you will be the next in line! It is an honour to be involved with the Champions Forum 2014; can’t wait to meet you all, and looking forward to an excellent time together in Lucerne.
