Youth, skills, and resilience: the view from WorldSkills Champions

During this WorldSkills Conference Talk we will hear how the global pandemic has impacted young skilled professionals and their fellows.

The upcoming WorldSkills Conference Talk and 15 July World Youth Skills Day event, will feature WorldSkills Champions from around the world.

Each Champion has selected the topics that are currently the most pressing to be solved as we rebuild: Missing technological innovation, the challenges of digital learning, the power of transferable skills, the necessity of societies to support learners, and young professionals as well as the structures and personal mindsets required to overcome times of uncertainty and doubt.

Following UNESCO’s lead for this year's World Youth Skills Day, we dedicate this Conference Talk to the theme "Skills for a resilient Youth". We will not only discuss different ways to build resilience in these challenging times, but the Champions will also make suggestions for ways that young people can be central to the economic recovery.

Participating in the discussions are Borhene Chakroun, Director Division for Policies and Lifelong Learning Systems, UNESCO, as well as Chris Humphries, Acting President of WorldSkills.

Register for the free seminar, happening Wednesday, 15 July 2020 (12pm GMT), and join the global skills community this World Youth Skills Day.
