WorldSkills Lyon 2024

What’s ON #4: Break the bias in skills

13 September 2024

As Competitors continue to showcase their talents, WorldSkills Lyon 2024 highlights the critical need for breaking the bias in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and creating equitable access to skills.

Skills can be a powerful equalizer, removing barriers, and creating opportunities for all. With the Competition now in full swing, day three shines a spotlight on the diverse, skilled workforce needed to address urgent global challenges.

WorldSkills Lyon 2024 reaches day three

Today, the halls of Eurexpo Lyon continue to buzz with inspiring Competitors and inspired young students, who are eager to become the next generation of skilled talent! Driven by the belief that you can only “be it if you see it,” day three of WorldSkills Lyon 2024 celebrates the incredible role models within our skills movement, and especially young women who are shifting stereotypes and encouraging more young girls to consider a career in skills. Come down and see them in action for yourselves, or follow our social channels for the highlights as they happen.

Skilled youth and skills leaders call for equity

Yesterday marked the second and final day of WorldSkills Conference 2024 and saw two sessions address the need for gender equity in skills. As the Conference came to a close, youth and skills leaders aligned around the need for fairer and more sustainable access to TVET. Watch their inspiring closing speeches.
