SHINING 3D becomes a WorldSkills Global Industry Partner

A long-standing supporter of skills and an industry leader in 3D printing, SHINING 3D has become a WorldSkills Global Partner at an official signing ceremony that took place at WorldSkills Lyon 2024.

WorldSkills strengthened its industry expertise even further today with the announcement that long-time supporter of skills, SHINING 3D has officially become a WorldSkills Global Industry Partner. SHINING 3D is a leader in 3D scanners with solutions for skilled professional across a huge range of sectors, including automotive, engineering, manufacturing, medical devices, and energy.

The announcement comes after an official agreement was signed in person by leaders from both organizations, at a special ceremony on the third day of WorldSkills Lyon 2024. The signing was attended by Chris Humphries, President of WorldSkills, David Hoey, CEO of WorldSkills International, and Alexander Amiri, Director of Sponsorships and Partnership for WorldSkills International.

SHINING 3D and WorldSkills have been working together since WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017. The 3D scanner manufacturer has supported Competitions at a national, regional, and international level, providing both equipment and expertise for the Mechanical Engineering CAD skill competition. But its products extend to metrology 3D scanners, prosumer 3D scanners, dental intraoral scanner, face, and lab scanners, and advanced 3D printing.

Founded in 2004 and headquartered in Hangzhou, SHINING 3D has shown incredible global growth. It has established offices across China, including Chengdu, Tianjin, and Hong Kong, as well as overseas in Stuttgart, Germany, and California and Florida in the United States. Its goal is to promote and enable the popularization of high-precision 3D vision technology to empower industries and innovators worldwide.

At the signing ceremony, David Hoey congratulated the team and thanked them for their dedication to skills, now and into the future. He said, “By signing this agreement today, we are showing the world our collective commitment to skills excellence. To sign this agreement together here, at WorldSkills Lyon 2024, surrounded by 1,400 young Competitors, feels particularly special and significant. We now look forward to working even more closely with you and your team.”

Li Tao, CEO of SHINING 3D, pledged to use its international footprint and innovative technology to further the WorldSkills mission, saying, “We are proud and excited to be part of WorldSkills and bring our 3D vision technology to many industries – from aerospace to mechanical engineering and medicine. Together, we can continue to expand and contribute to better products and new technologies, while championing young people through WorldSkills Competitions to become agents of change.”

SHINING 3D joins almost 30 other WorldSkills Global Partners who are using their expertise and influence to improve access to skills training and elevate TVET to the top of the global agenda. With attention now turned to WorldSkills Shanghai 2026, SHINING 3D will also be looking forward to the 48th WorldSkills Competition taking place in its home country of China.
