The role and functions of skills competitions are discussed among APEC member economies

apec.jpgOn 16-17 May 2013,China held the Seminar on Skills Competition and Vocational Skills Development Policies in Wuxi, China. The seminar shared among APEC member economies some key issues on organizing and participating in skills competition events, its role and functions for the achievement of economic success and individual fulfillment, the linkage of regional, national and international skills competitions. Participants also shared their respective experience in WorldSkills Competitions. A total of 30 participants from Chile, Indonesia, Japan, Republic of Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Chinese Taipei, Vietnam, China, most of whom are of Member organizations of WorldSkills International, attended the seminar and contributed to the in-depth discussion.

The event is a key activity under the APEC Skills Development Promotion Project, which is funded by the Government of P.R. China.
