Mongolia to host the next WorldSkills General Assembly
Ulaanbaatar selected as the destination for WorldSkills General Assembly 2027.

The next WorldSkills General Assembly will take place in Mongolia. The decision was announced on the opening day of WorldSkills General Assembly 2025 in Dubrovnik, Croatia.
WorldSkills Mongolia proposed tentative dates from 11 to 16 October 2027 at the Shangri-La Conference Centre, the country’s premier international venue in Ulaanbaatar. After an inspiring presentation and an electronic vote, WorldSkills Mongolia was officially awarded the right to host the next General Assembly.
Nyam-Ochir Tumur-Ochir, Director of the General Authority for Education of Mongolia and Official Delegate, said, “For the last 100 years, Mongolia has invested in skills development. Our government and policymakers continue to build a strong connection between sustainable skills training and human development. We invite you to join us in Ulaanbaatar in 2027 to see our progress.”
Enkhbold Erdenedelger, Technical Delegate, followed, saying, “Hosting WorldSkills General Assembly 2027 will allow us to increase our global visibility among the skills community, which is why Mongolia warmly welcomes the WorldSkills family to share our heritage, celebrate our skills, and shape the future together.”
Historically at the crossroads of craftsmanship, trade, and cultural exchange, Mongolia has always valued skills as central to its way of life. The country joined WorldSkills in 2014 to raise the profile and recognition of skilled people. Since then, its Membership has provided a vital platform to showcase young talent, connect with international partners, and accelerate reforms in vocational education.
Skills development is a key pillar of Mongolia’s Vision 2050 strategy for inclusive growth and human capital development. Major reforms are underway to modernize curricula, strengthen teacher training, and align Technical and Vocational Education and Training more closely with industry needs.
Through the WorldSkills Mongolia national competition, hundreds of young people have competed across a growing number of skills, with winners representing the country at the WorldSkills Competition and WorldSkills Asia Competition.
By hosting the WorldSkills General Assembly 2027, WorldSkills Mongolia aims to welcome the skills community to experience both its rich heritage and its aspirations — shaping the future through the power of skills.
