The creative arts are well represented at WorldSkills London 2011 with Fashion Technology, Floristry, Graphic Design Technology, Jewellery and Visual Merchandising competitions in full swing. In the northern hall of ExCeL London, where many of these creative Skill competitions are taking place, the beauty of stained glass is being made accessible to the public. Swansea School of Glass is teaching visitors to WorldSkills London 2011 to make stunning stained glass key rings and Christmas decorations.

Dr Vanessa Cutter, representing the Swansea School of Glass, commented that the stand has been incredibly popular:

“People enjoy this because it is hands on with the material, seeing it melt in the microwaves and giving an insight into a material they may have never encountered in this way before."

Healthcare student at the Redcar and Cleveland College, Jennifer Cartwright, commented that she really enjoyed the experience because it was creative and beautiful.
