Global Skills Marketplace update
By Michelle Turpin, WorldSkills International
A 'call to action' was sent out to Members and stakeholders to submit proposals for GSM conference sessions and the response was overwhelming! The Global Skills Marketplace will be held on Friday, October 7 and will have many internationally themed seminars presented that will be a draw for leaders in business, industry, education, and government. These seminars have an interactive and engaging component to them that will allow participants to ask questions and share what is going on in their own countries/regions. Presenters who specialise in various components of skills development, training, entrepreneurship, emerging technologies, education systems, the workforce of tomorrow and industry’s demand for young workers will share best practices, latest trends and findings through these interactive and engaging discussions and debates.
A committee is meeting in mid-July to review the seminars and choose the ‘winning’ proposals. The seminar sessions will be announced by the end of July and people can then register online for the sessions of their choice at www.worldskillspremiere.com .
