BeChangeMaker is a global social entrepreneurship training programme created by WorldSkills and the HP Foundation. It empowers young people with the skills, tools, and networks needed to lead positive change in their communities and contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Now in its ninth edition, the programme is supported by UNESCO-UNEVOC, along with partners UNIDO, PEN Worldwide, the Yunus Environment Hub, and YMCA Worldwide.

Following their first online pitch on 28 and 29 July, fifteen teams have been selected to advance to the next phase of BeChangeMaker 2025.

Since the programme began in June, participants have been developing entrepreneurial skills through high-quality, self-paced learning via HP LIFE. This training, combined with virtual coaching from longtime programme coach Michal Jirasek, from FounderScope, and mentorship from HP’s global network, has helped teams shape and strengthen their social business ideas.

During the first round of pitching, each team had three minutes to present their concept, followed by two minutes of questions from a panel of judges – HP employees with expertise across a range of business disciplines.

The following fifteen teams have been selected to progress:

  • ADAPTIVA, Dominican Republic – Facilitating adaptive smart solutions for evolving resilient cities.
  • AlgaeAquaCult, Chinese Taipei – Turning aquaculture waste into useful, eco-friendly resources.
  • AstMask, Denmark – Child-friendly asthma mask that simplifies inhaler use.
  • DonorX, Nigeria – Web-based comprehensive voluntary blood donor platform.
  • Dynapath, Vietnam – Piezoelectric tiles generating clean energy from footsteps, reducing emissions and costs.
  • EduGoals ai, United States – AI coach helping underserved rural students with their exams.
  • Glovatrix, India – AI-powered sign language interpreter.
  • PaperPods, Indonesia – Creating seed-embedded paper from waste crafted by retired Balinese women.
  • ReGen, Nepal – Climate-aware and action-oriented learning kits for children.
  • Selva, Colombia – Transforming gynaecological care with precise, low-cost diagnostic tools.
  • Spacefelt, India – Smartphone-based accessibility for visually impaired people.
  • Spooning, Vietnam – Fighting food waste by linking restaurants with charitable organizations.
  • TechGyant, Rwanda – Empowering African innovation with AI-driven storytelling for global reach.
  • Why Waste, Thailand – Responsible waste management through compostable packaging and waste collection systems.
  • Youth Re:Linked, Canada – Empowering communities to thrive through culture, care, and local leadership.

These teams will now continue their self-learning, coaching, and mentoring sessions. They will participate in one more progress session before the second online pitch on 13 August. From this round, five teams will be chosen for the final pitch, which will take place from 12–17 October during WorldSkills General Assembly 2025 in Dubrovnik, Croatia.
