Fashion for a cause!
At WorldSkills Leipzig 2013, a unique charity event took place.
Every Competition, the Experts of the Fashion Technology Skill area ask different designers from their country for dresses to bring to WorldSkills. These dresses, designed by fashion designers from all over the world, are then part of a quiet auction for charity.
A fashion show was held to model the beautiful international pieces. Visitors could bid on their favorite piece of clothing. The winning bidders were able to pick up their pieces at the end of the day. Close to 20 garments were auctioned off which raised 2000 Euro for a local charity.
On 24 July 2013, WorldSkills Leipzig 2013 delivered the proceeds of this collaborative project to “Leipzig Hilft!”, an initiative to support the people affected by the serious 2013 flood in Germany. For more information about this initiative visit www.leipzighilft.org
