Explore Swiss Apprenticeship Excellence in a new four-day course

Longtime partner of SwissSkills, the Swiss Federal University for Vocational Education and Training is offering an in-depth course in Lausanne in September about Switzerland’s apprenticeship system.

From 16 to 19 September 2024, the Swiss Federal University for Vocational Education and Training (SFUVET) will provide participants with a thorough understanding of Switzerland’s acclaimed Vocational Education and Training (VET) system through the course, “Skills in Switzerland: Exploring Apprenticeship Excellence.”

The programme includes workshops from professionals and academics who will discuss the pedagogical strategies and operational frameworks that underpin Switzerland’s VET system, as well as visits to Swiss organizations that are exemplary in implementing dual-track apprenticeships, and networking opportunities with industry leaders, educators, and peers.

The course will cover several critical aspects of Swiss vocational education, including:

  • Dual-Track System: Understanding how Switzerland combines classroom instruction with workplace training, providing students with practical skills, and theoretical knowledge.
  • Innovation in VET: Exploring how Swiss VET addresses modern challenges, such as the green and digital transitions, and the ongoing need to address labour shortages.
  • Success Factors: Analyzing the pedagogical and organizational strategies that have made the Swiss apprenticeship model a success.

Interested individuals are encouraged to register before 30 June 2024. Detailed information and registration can be found on the SFUVET course page. For further details, questions, or assistance with registration, please contact academy@sfuvet.swiss.
