American Welding Society in the news

The American Welding Society (AWS) is a WorldSkills International Global Industry Partner, and the AWS monthly publication - the Welding Journal - has been published continually since 1922, providing a rich 90-year link to all types of metal fabrication and construction, history, and practice. In the October 2015 issue of the Welding Journal, there is a "News of the Industry" article that reports on the AWS activity at WorldSkills São Paulo 2015. "Both AWS and WSI share a common vision to advocate for the skilled trades through research, education and training, international cooperation, and the creation of career pathways," said Ray Shook, Executive Director, American Welding Society. "AWS is excited to partner with WorldSkills, and is looking forward to working with them to try and enhance the welding profession worldwide."

AWS was very engaged at WorldSkills São Paulo 2015, including distributing 4,000 bracelets promoting www.careersinwelding.com - where educators and students can learn about education, training, and careers in which skill in welding is all important.
