4th WorldSkills GCC in Saudi Arabia

WorldSkills GCC Dammam 2016, is the 4th regional competition to be held in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). From 26-28 April 2016, Competitors are in Dammam, Saudi Arabia to compete in eight unique skills – Automotive Technology, Electrical Installations, Fashion Technology, Graphic Design Technology, IT Networking Systems Administration, IT Software Solutions for Business, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, and Welding.

Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Governor of Eastern Province, the Competition aims to develop the skills of youth and to promote economic development in the region. The Competition features the skills of 17-23 year olds representing the six countries of the GCC: Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

WorldSkills GCC is held every two years in one of the GCC countries. The United Arab Emirates hosted the first edition of the Competition in 2008 in the Emirate of Dubai, the second Competition was in the Sultanate of Oman in 2011 in Muscat, and the third was held in 2013 in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
