WorldSkills New Zealand - Newsletter - October 2010

From the CEO's Desk
The WorldSkills National Finals held in September at CPIT were a testament to the sort
of determination that is required to be the best in your field of endeavour, regardless of
the situation.
CPIT managed somehow to hide the issues they were facing as a consequence of the earthquake to deliver a faultless competition allied with perfect weather but with just a few shakes thrown in so that we knew what they were going through.
Our thanks to the staff at CPIT for delivering us a Tool Black team despite the other issues they were facing. The pursuit of excellence in skills and trades is what we are about and it was a perfect venue and atmosphere for just such an event. Of course the skills we were showcasing at the WorldSkills competition are just the sort of skills that Christchurch will need to rebuild not just the infrastructure, but to sustain their hearts and minds through the rebuilding process.
