The WorldSkills Competition 2022 Special Edition finale is around the corner. From 24 to 26 November, Messezentrum Salzburg, Austria will host the remaining seven skill competitions alongside the country’s major career fair, BIM BerufsInfo-Messe.

The event will feature 100 Competitors from 37 countries and regions in the charming Austrian city of Salzburg. They will compete in:

Over 30,000 people are expected to visit BIM BerufsInfo-Messe. With more than 180 exhibitors, visitors can discover new job profiles, career opportunities, as well as training and further education in Austria and neighbouring Bavaria, Germany. Open to the public free of charge, the 10,000㎡ of competition space provides an excellent overview of the diversity and excellence of international vocational education and training.

SkillsAustria, a non-profit association of the WKO and the host of the event, has mobilised around 180 volunteers, including WorldSkills Champions, students, and retirees. Their help will range from accreditation to assembly and dismantling to side events.

“We have been able to gather a lot of support not only from volunteers but also from partners. It has been challenging to be able to source all the equipment required for the skill competitions, often having to call company after company. With the help of the skills community and industry, we can proudly say that we are ready for the big event,” says Stefan Praschl, WorldSkills Board member for Competitions.

On 27 November, the Closing Ceremony will see not only the medals for these seven skills being awarded, but it will also officially conclude WorldSkills Competition 2022 Special Edition.

Watch the Closing Ceremony live on YouTube at 15.00 GMT on 27 November. (You can sign up for a reminder notification on YouTube.)
