For the first time in history, six previous Gold Medallists of WorldSkills Competitions in Bricklaying came together to provide inspiration and encouragement to the current competitors at WorldSkills Kazan 2019.

The competitors listened, as the Champions spoke about their experiences and what the WorldSkills movement has meant to them in the years following their achievement.

The Medallist were from China, UK, Denmark, Netherlands, Ireland, and Switzerland and had participated in the world championships in different editions from 1997 to 2017.

It was a great opportunity for the current competitors to take inspiration as they head into the last hours of competition.

2017 Gold Medallist, Zhibin Liang told the competitors, “enjoy the process, because no matter what place you finish, you will grow from it and learn from it”.

“WorldSkills has a powerful effect not just on Gold Medallists, but everyone,” said Chief Expert Troy Everett said.

“It’s a sign of the great fraternity we have as bricklayers. We work hard, we enjoy each other’s company and we share great experiences,”

The competition wrapped up at 2pm today in Hall B2 of Kazan Expo.
