Between February 3-5, more than 800 Competitors will go neck and neck in 48 different skill areas - competing for a spot on Team France to represent their country at WorldSkills London 2011.

It is predicted that the 41st French National Competition will have a record breaking 200,000 visitors walk through the entrance of Parc des Expositions Porte de Versailles in Paris.

WorldSkills France also expects a large number of foreign guests. Amongst the international visitors are Experts, Competitors and Observers from; Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Switzerland and United Kingdom.

Three steps to victory
Three steps are all it takes to become a WorldSkills Champion*. Let’s take a closer look:

Step 1. Regional selections take place in 24 French regions, generally between February and October in the year before the WorldSkills Competition.
Step 2. National Finals are organised by a selected French region about 8-9 months before the WorldSkills Competition. Each Region of France can select a Competitor for each of the skills represented at the French National Finals.
Step 3. The final phase is the WorldSkills Competition, which is organised in one of WorldSkills International’s 53 Member countries/regions every other year.

Step 1 has been checked off the to-do-list as we look towards the much anticipated National Competition. Regardless of who becomes a part of Team France, we can all appreciate the hard work that goes into the preparations and training for any level of skill competition.
