We are very excited to announce that Former Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (Lula) will give the keynote address during the WorldSkills Leaders Forum 2013 on 4 July in Leipzig, Germany as part of the 42nd WorldSkills Competition. The theme of the WSLF is "Our Youth – Our Future" and the keynote address will be focused the best strategy to make the social and economic transformation through the VET process and skill competitions, the role and value of skill competitions in the skill development of Brazil and how to embed them in the skills development activities of the country. As a follow on from this rare and fantastic opportunity to hear from a well known, well respected global leader, we will provide the chance for the audience of the WSLF to hear from Canadian television celebrity, Mike Holmes, and how he has made it his personal goal to raise the awareness of a skilled young workforce. He will publicly challenge the audience to increase the focus that media is giving skilled young people and he wants to help. The Global Skills Marketplace (GSM) is an international forum where WorldSkills Members and guests are invited to "Discover Skills Unlimited" within a series of interactive and engaging 45-minute seminars that will run throughout the day on Friday, 5 July, 10:00–16:00 in the Conference Center Leipzig (CCL). GSM sessions are dedicated to global skills issues and are offered as part of the overall WorldSkills Leipzig 2013 Conference Program – an international conference and seminar programme that will bring together leaders from around the world to network, share best practices and learn from others. The GSM will offer internationally themed seminars relating to Digital Media and E-learning, Mobility and Globalization, Tradition and Future and Discover VET – Made in Germany.
