The layout of the Global Skills Village differs to previous Competitions and as such will be a dedicated area carefully located adjacent to the skill areas on the exhibition floor – which we hope will maximise visitors and enhance their overall experience of the Competition. |

Media Accreditation Launch |

By Sally Eley, WorldSkills London 2011 The final touches are being made to the media accreditation process for all UK based and international media planning to visit WorldSkills London 2011. The simple process will ensure that all journalists are accredited appropriately and receive the relevant access to the Competition. Sitting as part of the Official Media Website, the one stop shop for information for the media, the media accreditation process will go live on Wednesday 13 July. |

In addition to the new I AM branding, we will also be developing new functionality to enhance the event itself. For example interactive maps and schedules that are smartphone optimised and allow a visitor to build their own bespoke itinerary. The new website will be launched in August! |

The theme has been designed with a visitor to WorldSkills London 2011 at its heart, and focuses on bringing out the aspirations and self expression of those visiting the Competition as well as helping to explain and put into context, all that is happening at the event. |

By Sally Eley, WorldSkills London 2011 With just over three months to go before London hosts the world's biggest international skills Competition, schools, colleges and other training providers outside of the UK are being urged to register for complimentary tickets. Taking place at ExCeL London from 5 - 8 October, WorldSkills London 2011 will see almost 1,000 young people from across the globe compete for Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in skills as diverse as hairdressing and hospitality to floristry and graphic design. 150,000 visitors are expected to attend the event and allocated visitor slots are running out fast so groups are being urged to confirm their attendance to avoid disappointment. |

WorldSkills Medal Designers Celebrate Success |

By Sally Eley, WorldSkills London 2011 Two school students, 16 year old Arash Manshadi, from Middlesex and 13 year old Shivani Kava, from Ealing have won a UK wide competition to design the medals for this year's WorldSkills Competition. Arash and Shivani's designs will be used to make over 150 Gold, Silver and Bronze medals and 56 'Best of Nation' medals which will be presented at the spectacular Closing Ceremony at The O2 arena on 9 October 2011. |

The Skills Turkey National Competition was organised in 8 skill areas with a total of 88 Competitors, 8 Chief Experts, 64 Experts, 47 Team Leaders and a lot of observers and visitors. |

Die sieben Kandidaten und ihre Experten trainieren seit einem Jahr intensiv für die bevorstehende Herausforderung. Im Tourismusbüro in Vaduz stellte sich das äusserst motivierte Team vor und präsentierte ihre Berufe. "Ich bin überzeugt, dass unsere Mannschaft in London eine sehr gute Leistung zeigen wird", betonte Moderator und Technischer Delegierter von worldskills Liechtenstein, Marco Frick. Alle Teilnehmer sind Spezialisten in ihren Fachgebieten. "Die worldskills Liechtenstein leistet einen wertvollen Beitrag zur Förderung der Fachkräfteausbildung auf höchstem Niveau", betonte die stellvertretende Leiterin Karin Meier vor dem zahlreich erschienenen Publikum und versammelter Presse. |

Not only are they trained within Dutch borders, they also get great opportunities to head abroad, to catch a glimpse of international competition and rivalry. A total of twelve candidates have been heading abroad for the last month, Finland, Canada and Australia being their destinations. |
